Gift Idea: Grandma Board
A couple months ago I shared how to make these grandma boards at a craft night I co-hosted in AZ. A grandma board would make the perfect gift for Christmas. They are SO simple to make and everyone loved making them! They are perfect for all the grandparents in your life.
Let’s get started shall we…
{ Grandma Board }
Supplies Nedded:
- Wooden Board (I found these pre-finished boards from hobby lobby-score!)
- Grandkids Vinyl
- Clothes Pins
- Paint and brush
- Glue
- Embellishments
1. Take your pre-finished board or paint it and allow to dry.
2. Cut out the grand kids vinyl. Then remove the vinyl and place on the board. You could also use a stencil for this.
3. Push vinyl down and remove transfer tape.
4. Paint clothespins and allow to dry. Once they are dry you can embellish these with paper, buttons, ribbon, etc.
5. Glue clothespins to boards.
Hang up your pictures and you have the perfect grandma gift!! They will love these… trust me!
These are the grandma blocks I made last year. You can find the tutorial here.
SO have you already started your grandma gifts?!
I absolutely love the blocks
Thanks Ashley! 🙂 xo
I love the grandparents board! Anyone selling something similar? I want one for my inlaws, but dont have time to make one!
Thanks girl! I haven’t seen one… but I’m sure someone would be on etsy. If you buy the pre-painted boards at hobby lobby it wouldn’t take you as long. Good luck! This is a crazy time of year!
Awesome idea! I have something similar to this pinned.. love it Jamie! 🙂
Thanks Kelley! 🙂 xo
i love it…
btw i noticed the price tag on your E600 glue $3.69! Great deal, over here at our craft store it costs $7.99 a tube!
Thank you! 🙂 Oh man that’s expensive!! I got mine at hobby lobby… not sure if you have one of those, but I love that store!
Yes I absolutely love it. I just wish I wasn’t all thumbs. The blocks are absolutely adoring. 🙂
Thanks your comment! 🙂 The blocks were so fun too. You could always do a longer board to fit more grand kids as well.
So cute Jamielyn! I love the blocks as well. My mom would love both of these! Thanks so much for sharing!!
Thanks Karen! Both grandma’s loved the blocks and my kids love playing with them when they go over! 🙂

Turned out perfect! Great gift idea! Happy holiday!
I absolutely looove the grandma board. The blocks too! Grandparents always love the thoughtful gifts best, and sometimes I run out of inspiration for what to do. I know you’re super popular {understandably so – you have a FABulous blog} and I’m sure you’re really busy, but I would be so unbelievably honored if you would share this at my party if you get the time.

This is so cute! I think I might change it up a little and use it for my kids’ great-grandma! So fun!
Oh yes, that would be great! Hope you have a happy christmas!
Love these!!! Want to try make some as gifts! Can you tell me the dimensions of the board?
Love this! Where did you find the Grandkids vinyl lettering at?
Hey Elizabeth! I printed it out with my CAMEO, but I have seen some on etsy as well. A lot of shops will do custom cuts.
Love these! How big are the boards you used?
Hi Stefanie! If I remember right, they are 2 feet long. You can find them already precut at Hobby Lobby. 🙂
What was the height of the boards that you used? I love this by the way! I’m so excited to give this gift!
I believe they were about 4-5 inches.
