Lump of Coal
(for naughty boys and girls)

Hello everyone! We are Jennifer, Jamie and Jodie from eighteen25 and we are so excited to be here today! We have a question for you. We want to know if you have started to make “the list” yet. You know the one… the one that has to be checked twice. (well Santa checks his twice at least)
Today we are sharing something for those people that might not quite make the nice list… yes… the naughty list folks…. or those friends with a fun sense of humor. We first came across this idea on pinterest and knew immediately that we’d have to give it a try and make a little tag to go with it. So today we’ll be making a lump of coal {Christmas Coal}.
Of course it’s the yummy kind made with rice krispies!!

then just find a cute container to put it in.

this paint can came from Joann’s craft store and then i just tied a green grosgrain bow on the side.
i printed out the tag on white cardstock and used a 3″ circle punch to cut the tag out and backed it in a 4″ scalloped circle.

for this gift i just placed a couple pieces of Christmas coal in a treat bag and tied with red grosgrain ribbon. i printed the tag out on kraft paper and just cut around the square. i used an old ink pad around the edges.

i was so excited to find this little container in Target’s dollar spot. again i just printed the tag out on white cardstock and used my 3″ circle punch and it was the perfect size for the top. a black tulle bow adds just a little fluff.
so…
our last question is…
do you have some friends (or children) on the naughty list that could use some a lump of coal this year??? 😉

Here are some more fun Christmas ideas you can find over at eighteen25.

Hi, I’m just letting you know I featured this on my blog today!

I’m trying this with the Cocoa Krispies in hopes of cutting back the food coloring some… *fingers crossed*
Hi, this looks great, how long would you say they are good for once they have been made?
If kept in an airtight container, they should be good for three days or more! 🙂
Will the food coloring turn your mouth and teeth black?
It can if you eat a lot at once, but it doesn’t stay black for very long.
Good idea for friends 🙂
Made these last year for my nephews and they were really tasty so I’m making them for everyone this year!! Haha. I was a little overzealous with the food dye, but I think it’s actually kinda perfect that it turns your mouth temporarily black ?
